Details  : Tillandsia ionantha ‘Fuego’. Aptly named from the Spanish word for ‘Fire’, this plant when in bloom blushes a vibrant Fire Truck red! This enables the plant to attract hummingbirds which help to pollinate its flowers. This plant has narrow, tubular flowers which rise from the foliage and are a deep purple. Like other Ionantha varieties, it produces multiple offsets over time to become a large cluster. This cultivar can sometimes be cold sensitive.
